Guns Now Lying

Guns Now Lying

A Poem by Matthew
"

That's how you know it's over.

"
Gun in my face
I still don’t know what the difference is
Trigger cocked, sights lined up
I still can’t figure out what the point is
The words are all different, but still have the same meaning
I still can’t understand what the problem is

The guns are loaded and now aimed at you
The bombs are booming, red dot right upon you
The ground will be smelted to glass and ash
Say goodbye!  Just say goodbye!

Gun now at her side
The sights now aimed at the ground
Locked and loaded, don’t know what she will do
Her words still sound different, but will always contain the same meaning
Greeted by a friendly smile, still I’m sad that it’s all a show
I would have loved to say goodbye, too bad I never had the time

The guns are loaded and now lay by you
The bombs are triggered, sights always set upon you
The ground will be littered with the dead
Say goodbye!  Just say goodbye!

Her hand now rests on my shoulder
Gun lays on the side of the road
Criminal intentions shattered by a loving embrace
Screams and moans shall fill the air
This broken glass reminds me of home
Memories shattered by a single round

Today I said goodbye

The guns are loaded, now aimed at you
The bombs are gone, already discharged
The ground will no longer contain a shred of green
Just say goodbye!  Just say goodbye!

Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye

Tonight I leave to save myself
Tonight I leave to help myself
Tonight I cry to relieve the pain
Tonight I crawl down the road of sin
Today she said goodbye
Goodbye
