Flying to the Moon

Flying to the Moon

A Poem by Matthew
"

Some fly away for good.

"
Running away
I thought I was here to stay
No, not today, no, not like this
I regret my thoughts, but I can’t take it back
You throw words at me as carefree as ever
They all laughed as they flew up to the moon

Running soon
I thought I was going to be here for more
Because today, unlike tomorrow, becomes worse than ever
I regret the lies, but everyone knows I can’t take it back
You throw insults at me like a rock from a slingshot
Everyone knew, as they flew up to the moon

Go away
I thought you were going to stay
No, not like this, please, not like this
I regret nothing, no, not anymore
You throw apologizes at me like a soldiers shouting orders
No one cried, as they flew up to the moon

Not today
I thought you knew what to do
Yes, please do it like this, just stay here til noon
You regret too much, but it’s not like you can remember
You throw beautiful words at me like a child pretends to whisper
No one shown, as they flew up to the moon

I always wanted to fly
I always wanted to try
They all flew up to the moon
I always watched
Too scared to drop
Why did they all have to fly too soon?
