Garden of Angels

Garden of Angels

A Poem by Westminster Abbey
"

I recently went to the cemetary to visit my brother's tree. This is a story of a friend of his.

"

I lie here in the Garden of Angels,

Untouched and unbothered for years.

They left me here alone.

People pass by me

To see their loved ones.

I remain alone.

Surrounded by flowers.

I have none.

I remain alone.

The trees stand tall

And bear their fruit.

I remain alone.

Through storms and disasters,

Through tears and despair,

I remain alone.

But wait,

Here someone comes.

Will I remain alone?

They pass by me,

Looking for their brother's tree.

I am still alone.

But they double back.

They clean me, refresh my spirits.

I am left alone.

Once again, I am alone,

But this is different,

Now I have hope.

There are good ones out there,

And they will return.

I will not be alone,

Not forever.

“I didn’t know who it was, but I had to do it.”

Author's Note

Westminster Abbey
I recently went to a cemetary to visit my brother's tree. We were looking at all the flower displays on the other graves and saw one that had been forgoten. It had no flowers, and was almost hiden by dirt. So, naturally, we cleaned it up and went home happy with our good deed.
This is only my second poem, so I don't expect to be good. Please leave some constructive critisism in the reviews! Thanks for reading!

Beautiful Abbey!! Carefully, I am brought through a range emotions with short and sometimes specific exaggerations of how these emotions make you feel at the present time they are felt. I never saw your sister in the physical sense, but rather saw her how she affected choices and views you had. That, in itself, was what respect FOR her demanded..... and in the end it proves to protect that precious heart of yours. I can't help but miss my grandparents right now, and selfishly wish for a hug. Love how you broke the poem up like you did and how they are in these groups of three. If my OCD could be summed up in 3 different things, it would be 1, 2, 3!! lol Love three's and Love how descriptive and real your imagination is!! Beautiful, Abbey..... xoxo -Mark

That is a very good poem for only your second. Please keep writing as you can only get better. Also, writing, in any form, helps bring peace to one's life......

Awwh, this is so sad and really good! Is this really your second poem? Wow, you're really good at writing poetry and you should keep writing. You have an excellent potential too! I like the title and the story behind it. When we visit the cemetery we pick up flowers or statues that have been knocked onto the grass any chance that we get. My daddy cuts the grass for extra money and he helps clean the graves, which it might seem like a deed for some people but to him it's in his blood to care about property of any sort. It's good to pick up any mess even if it's not yours. You know what I mean? I think you done a fantastic job! Keep it up! :))
