![]() RecessA Poem by Renata
I sit in the corner
of the playground watching all the big kids play hopscotch a brigade of bouncing bunnies bopping into each other's squares and avoiding the marked one that is mine; it all smells a little fishy or maybe that is just the tuna sandwich set aside stinking in its own rejection so, I write another little word salad to consume for my own sustenance while quietly hoping that some other kid will break from the game and enter my space to tease me with some words and a pull on my pigtails so I'll know I am secretly liked before the last bell rings and I return to the reality of mundane classes of mathematics.
