the voids within

the voids within

A Poem by revalatia
"

Found this piece hidden in a filing cabinet... Must have had something going on when I wrote it :P...an oldie to archive

"
God, fill this void inside of me
I'm bound by unseen entities
that block the things I want to be
depleting me of sanity
Each day further from the key
which locks my heart from being free
Reflection marred from what I see
I'm still my own worst enemy

The moment we identify ourselves as our worst enemy, I consider is the first step to self analysis and freedom there by. The void within us is nothing but 'we'. This is beautiful..

Thank you for reading it. Love when great writer enjoys something I write as well. :) Peace.
This describes perfectly the habit we all stumble into of letting the shadows of the past tint our view of the now, with what has passed before being all we know and understand, so it is only right that we fall into this way of thinking when answers aren't forthcoming to what is in front of us in the now. Sometimes we fall into thinking that in our minds we feel the answers to be true, so we just go with the flow and keep finding the same flaws, when in reality seeing these flaws again should be what kicks us into change. But we all still keep making those same mistakes and forget we have the strength to overcome all that is in our path. This leaves me thinking of what I have achieved, instead of what I have not yet succeeded in.
You done well to fit a life in so few words so well.

I love this. I completely understand what it means to be your own enemy, and I have struggled so long with it. This really put it into words, sounds like a prayer. Love it.

Yep that is what I was aiming at actually. Thanks!
wow this is good stuff i can really empathize with this seeking your own place in society while trying to avoid being molded by it seeming completely inescapable we believe something is wrong with us as a person and hate ourselves for it so we continue to be molded as much as we are screaming out inside for release of our chains of self doubt.
Beautiful thank you for sharing.

A good relatable write so often we are our own worst enemy manifested from our insecure thoughts that keep dissecting

Beautiful flow to this piece and totally relatable. Have been in this place more than once and sometimes even the relief of putting it into words is enough to lift us from the constant aches and pains of the mind and all its trickery, detracting and distracting us into what feels like a permanently numbed state.
Superbly captured. No word wasted and reads effortlessly.
