Still Poetry

Still Poetry

A Poem by rhythm&blues

I have come to love poetry
 even through trials and tribulations
it is the call of the wild in the air
whether feast, famine or love and turmoil
it still moves to the emotions that drive us all

i think you meant "to the emotions that drive us all" ?

i really like this piece, especially where you say "it is the call of the wild in the air"

just like the dog in Jack London's "call of the wild"

poetry can't really be tamed..it moves and drives us, we do not move and drive it..

and it certainly presents trials and tribulations...it can confound us even as we try to bring it to some kind of order, so that we can understand it and ourselves.

Wherever it came from, thank you BR.
a writer is an untamed spirit, first and foremost...it is why we write, to let that beast out of the cage, to release that pent up feeling and preserve it for posterity...love the way you handled this!

Thank you sakshi.
Writing, and poetry, is one of those things that cannot be aptly explained; just like art--two people can look at the same painting and have completely different emotions, feelings, etc. I think that finding what moves you personally is what is important, and it doesn't matter if it adheres to the sterotypical norm, or if so-and-so says that it is good and you should like it. Poetry is all about that feeling you get in your gut when you read words, and you are right, "it is the call of the wild in the air"--untameable, untraceable, unpredictable. An interesting concept piece, and very thought provoking this morning...
