Painted Deserts

Painted Deserts

A Poem by Richard Lane

I think you've guessed it by now

the songs I've been hearing have blended

themselves into the fabric of my writing

yes
and

I think I'm doing fine with everything

going on here

within the transformation

of my written work as it translates

my own transformation

and how I dare to involve myself

in ventures that require me

to gather all of the strength

I can to keep moving

in the directions I

am choosing to continue to do

because
it's the words coming out from my heart,
along with

my soul and my mind,
but the rhythms
inside my writing here
does come from the songs I hear
and I won't be stopping
my listening.
In fact I think I might to do some dancing
while I'm listening
to the music I'm hearing
as I am getting ready to eat something
for dinner
and it's almost 8:00 PM
so for now I will say goodbye.

perhaps you could let us know what you are listening to ?? Just a thought, there is a bit of bounce to this piece, just not sure what that music in the background is..
