Cycle of Life

Cycle of Life

A Poem by Rodyann
"

What do you see here? is it love?

"

Tears like raindrops upon my window pane,

Fall heavy without cease and end.

the sadness has grown inside my soul

like a tree but bear no good fruit.

My heart tears

as simple as a child tears a paper

Into Halves, and then into smaller pieces still.

until fragments remain.

the lies spoken, imprinted unpon your heart

like the lies of the system is imprinted into your mind.

But yet.....

Bet still we welcome this pain

for everytime it comes

Hidden the reaper under Cupid's clothes

We invite dine and sleep

And feel the joy of flying

and happiness.

but we are just a part of the cycle

Where happiness and pain are connected

Sadness and joy conjoined

and Death and Life are lovers

I loved the imagery, and your reference to the reaper being hidden under cupid's clothes was genius. Aside from a few grammar errors, everything's perfect.
I absolutely love these lines:
"My heart tears
as simple as a child tears a paper
Into Halves, and then into smaller pieces still.
until fragments remain."

Beautiful use of visualization. I love the balance you use when joining Death and Life as lovers. Thank you for sharing.
