You as an Island

You as an Island

A Poem by Rizaclaire

The tides of fate crashes in the shores of your life.
you have to be steadfast on its onslaught.
Face its tragedies with a resolute and stubborn smile.
If it carries good tidings,
bow your head in humility and accept its graces.

The ever changing winds stir the branches of your life,
Be flexible and sway to the direction of the wind,
but be resolute that it never breaks you.
For once broken it could never be mended again.

May your integrity be as strong as the mountains,
Majestic and beautiful unbeding to nature's will,
life with its temptations, fears, sadness, and joys are part of nature,
May you never compromise your integrity for such trifle experiences.

Love like the never ending flow and ebb of the water,
Profess how you feel like the babbling brook,
love with passion and without inhibition like the torrents of the waterfall.
Ceaseless and unencumbered may your love be like water,
calm and yet passionate,
pure and life giving untainted by the cynicism of time.
