In the Looking Glass

In the Looking Glass

A Poem by Einstein Noodle

In the Looking Glass

p***y willow words
mirrored back to me in angry disdain.

heckling red laughter
tore .......
                   tears
shredded tissues between us
so long ago      -       and yet
still i find
stubborn phrases
tonguing soft pink ears

stuck in  cracks between the walls
unchanged .......................................................
 (a senryu in waiting)

you weren't into it and
I had need

Ginger cherry mop boards tight against the wall
holding fast ........... a heart, a fall
stillborn syncope

mirror images recognized
fog forgotten filigree
                                   fading
impregnates the silence

turn past the looking glass
i won't remember any more

anymore.

How we see things when we look at ourselves and the past. Despite the differences and the history feelings are hard to extinguish for amongst the ashes of paper an unburnt fragment remains to plague us and remind us of the book and how we fingered it's pages.

Wow, you can spin an image.

May we always be able to see past the looking glass.

these words truly need no intro or explanation, they are what they are.. and despite the fact they might be variously interpreted, will not influence my my gut reaction and later more reasoned response which remain pretty much the same... whether the original ache is felt as much today, only you will know for sure.. I trust it has eased some, but then who am I........I loved this Gene... like a fat kid loves cake and then some..... :)))))))) cheers n all that jazz

dear E... "fog forgotten filigree"... this sums up an experience
many of us may have endured... impregnated memories of
unskilled lovers who were confused... and sought unconventional ways
to move on. The looking glass is a two-sided reflection at times.
Best to see your reflection(s) at the edge of a River where love ripples out
forever. truly a poem to bring closure to a learning and hurtful experience.
Thank you dear poet, Pat

you`re welcome my friend
okay first thing here...love "the senryu in waiting"
i wish i had thought of that phrase...
and sharing the tissue...loves and relationships that have seen their course...ended but the splitting evenly of the tears...makes me wonder if the exes ever think of me as i do them...
and if i don't look in that mirror...then i won't see what they did...and i might stay with myself.
damn this is good...
but you post only very readable and relatable poetry, my friend.
i just covered all the mirrors in my house.
