Am I different?

Am I different?

Am  I Different?

I find that as I age, when walking, I stumble

I try to stay upright but I frequently tumble

My speech is diminishing now I often mumble

My once happy lifestyle is beginning to crumble.

I have to accept it because it makes me who I am

It is like being an entry in some evil "grand slam"

I frequently yell for help to get me out of this jam

I never realized Nature could enforce such a spam

There is no escape we must take it all on the chin

You'll be in the "Eighties “when these functions begin

Different body issues will put your mind in a spin

My advice? when it happens, produce one big grin.

Dear Rod, I sincerely hope you are OK. It's been a while. There is so much truth in your lines. I see it with my mum and my step dad and what is going on there. It happens and it will happen to us all. If only we could take it on the chin and give a broad smile. Some can, but most can't. I love this poem, I do indeed.

Yes, enjoy it while you can because this failing to work properly happens when you least expect it and as one part fails another gives up the ghost as well; it's a mattern of sink or swim Rod and i see you are swimming :)

Hey Rod nice to read your words. I am only seventy six, but I can relate to what you have written. In the last week I have fallen down twice because of dizzy spells, and me back plays up so many times. And me memory is not worth anything There's not much we can da as you said, just keep on laughing. That's what I do, Seems like we both walk together, my friend. You wrote this well....peter
