You

You

A Poem by Robert Bean

You

your body burns in my mind like a brilliant beacon
your soul a lantern towards the wonder I desire
the reality of distance a blockade to the now
the longing threatens to overshadow intelligence
leave me dangling over the abyss of knowing
too different to be a placebo for love

Long distance love...you've written about it in a semi-abstact, non-cliched way. ( my take on it, anyway) I like the image and the alliteration of the L-1. Nicely done. : )
