END OF THE NIGHT

END OF THE NIGHT

A Poem by Marie
"

The last star...

"

Final star, a dwindling glow

Sheds its feeble rays below

Struggling still, this tiny spark

Fading with the fading dark

Cloudy jewel, once diamond bright

Vanishes with dawn’s new light.

From your words like me you may be a odd sleeper or short sleeper and see the transition often because you describe it so well. Some of my favorite photos are early morning sunrise as the transition comes with bridges reflected in the water below. And you have brought that feeling with your words. Thank you for sharing.

I'm glad you liked the poem, but I have not seen a sunrise in 20 years; where I live that isn't easy.. read more

Great imagery. I can imagine the star fighting against the dawn.

For something to be born something else must die. But, no worries. It will all change again tonight.

THanks. ALthough I understand from Jacob erin-cilberto that we aren't really seeing the stars.

Thank you Pax. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
too bad the stars are actually burned out already by the time we see them...

almost like what we see is not real...but regardless...they are beautiful...as is this description.

THank you. I guess the last star was the last a long time ago.
what a beauty Marie!
The imagery of a little star all alone trying to provide a semblance of light in the dark just before dawn is a truly powerful one. I really liked this poem.
The image you chose - WOW! - it reminded me of pics of lava flows - took a few seconds to register what it actually was !
Great creativity my friend.
