Torrential Rains

Torrential Rains

A Poem by Robin
"

"When you know he's the one"

"
Storms rolling in
A Nor'Easter
the worst storms of all
Rumbling, raging voices getting closer
And closer to shore
Angry streaks running wild through the sky
And here amidst it all
You stand dressed in white.
Your clothes are billowing in the wind
Your eyes lock with mine
So steady
So true
You say my name.....
It whispers in the wind
In that moment I know
I'm safe in your arms.

Great symbolism of the storm, the need for the safe haven of a true love. Very nicely done!

we really get a feel for a significant other or possible significant other when we see how that person reacts during a storm...meaning a bad moment...will that person stand by us during the bad times---can't always be blue skies...and some aren't strong enough to stay with us during the storms...we want to feel safe with that other person.

i like this write.

Thank you Jacob. We all need that person who not only weathers the storm but makes us forget about .. read more

Ahh. I know nor'easters! I love storms. I really love the way that you used weather for this piece of poetry! You have done a fantastic juxtaposition of the storm versus two people, safety love and everything written in between the lines. I often feel like some of the greatest and most beautiful moments in life come in the midst of storms.
