Fortune Teller

Fortune Teller

A Poem by Heather Clayton

Sparkle dust on my hands
Glitter in my eyes
Living on the desert sands
living with the wise
A tapestry is hanging
in the little room I share
It brings me up to singing
with golden in my hair
I speak the words of wisdom
I change the tarot cards
you will find something hidden
sky blue woven in the Jacquard
and when I tell your fortune
you will remember what I say
and I say, "Oh my God, hon"
and I ask about your day
and then my eyes wander
and I lift my eyes to speak
I ask you to go yonder
to travel to a peak
and when you arrive
lay out these hands of mine
for you will find love
on the brightest day it shines.
