If You Look Real Close

If you look real close into my eyes you’ll
see a picture of Jesus there.
For everywhere I look to the sky’s the
mountain and seas and everything in
between I see Jesus the fountain of my life.
If you look real close but not at the ragged
clothes I wear instead see the love I share
you‘ll see Jesus in there..

While I’m waiting on the coffee machine
to brew for another cup of caffeine.
I think about how good God bless me with
beef chow mien last night.
In that fresh cup of coffee quick as a blink
I thought I seen Jesus looking back at me
from the reflection in my cup.

I walked out the door, it was already sixty-four
degrees.
I heard Gods surround sound in the trees as the
birds sung in harmony while I held my cup in
hand.
I tried to whistle along with there tune.
But the birds hushed there singing.
The composer said be still there singing for you.

If you look real close you know you’re never
alone even in the days when I use to get stone out
of my mind I hopped to see Jesus as I laid there
as being paralyzed .
When I realized I am a clone to God, I felt he
already knew I would be week in some thing.
And when I looked real close I am his child then
and now for his son saved my soul.
If you look real close can you say the same?

I haven't read your work in years but there is a calmness that comes over me when I do. I know we have completely different writing styles but I respect you and share your love even though I write horror and other content.

Interesting poem. I don't see a lot of Christian faith related writing and I have to say it's a breath of fresh air. I'm born again myself and I really enjoyed this. God really is with us always, though we don't always have the wisdom to see it. Great poem
