Honey

Honey

A Poem by Davi Rodrigues
"

A small poem I wrote in the bus, thinking about some things.

"
Bear found a jar of honey.
Sweet-smelling, tasty honey,
All ready for his pleasure.
It was easy beyond measure.

No effort did Bear have to make.
The food was there for him to take.
He took it and he ate it all.
And never left his dear jar fall.

Then Bear thought honey was too sweet;
Too gooey, it stuck on Bear's feet.
He missed the berries and the fish.
Less easy, but more life-like dish.

He tried to catch fish with his jaw,
Or pluck off berries with his claw.
But his sticky teeth couldn't open far,
And his good paw was in the jar.

Our bear thinks that there are no ways
To taste the fruits of hunting days
But breaking the jar he holds dear.
Damn, the berries  are so near.
