After a storm comes a calm

I came up with the idea for this one yesterday. Decided to make it a sonnet.

I've just gotten out of bed

The messed up sheets are still warm

I slept through such a bad storm

While some others would have fled

At least the sky has cleared out

The sun is up and it shines

But it is showing odd signs

That its beams are not so stout

My dearest star used to be

So warm and of rays so bright

Now my way it does not light

It's almost too dark to see

Timid rays are not enough

And the path I walk is rough
