Far-away Paris

Far-away Paris

A Poem by Davi Rodrigues
"

This came to me this morning, but then I took too long working on it and the outcome was not what I expected.

"
Long lost City of Lights
That has been dearly missed
With its countless delights

It's lost in time's white mist
And I won't go back there
That town where I was kissed

Where I went to a fair
In the City of Love
Now the fair street is bare

In that site stands above
A tower of pure steel
That's one sight I think of

A token fate did steal
The last mem'ry I had
Of a trip most ideal

It will get off my head
Like the moon gets off sight
I'll travel home instead

I like writing in English, don't know why. Sometimes I think I write better in English than in my own language. Portuguese is not so much my thing. more..
