Summer Rain - song lyrics

Summer Rain - song lyrics

A Poem by Rogie-Dodge
"

love and sadness

"
The summer rain
Falls soft
On my shoulders
As I walk
Once again down the street
That I used to know

I still feel the pain
When I left
As a soldier.
You and I
Were in love, love so deep,
But I had to go.

And now I'm home !
Back home for the summer
Home !
Back home to discover
You
You found another
Love
And so I just turn and
Leave

Once more

The summer rain
Falls soft
On my shoulders
As I walk
Once again down the street
That I used to know.

My tears
Fall down
Like summer rain.

This poem of yours is a beautiful song that tells a story. It inspired me to write this gift poem for you which you may keep at your own:

Love Lost

Under falling rain,
walking down her street
as I cry in vain
feeling incomplete,

I’ve no more to gain
since I lost my Sweet
on this shady lane
where we chanced to meet.

But for war and pain,
and the world’s deceit,
we would love again
in the Summer’s heat.

Soon I’ll take a train
to a mild retreat,
a green garden plain
that’s void of concrete.

I find it to be a beautiful but hurtful story, I feel however that better paragraphing would have drawn my interest in more.

damn ..this occasion so sucks ... loving and loosing always hurts but when its one of our warriors that looses while away it is horrible ... we know the rain from both sides ...

It is a fictional story, but I'm sure it would have played out many times in reality. And it would .. read more

I really like the ending even though it is sad, the imagery shows despair where once there was hope.

I like the first and last verse being the same, arriving with hope and leaving in despair.
