My Companion

My Companion

A Poem by Broken Melody

A heart, dark as coal,

Sad memories, a shattered soul,

A life of betrayal and abuse,

Whats the use?...

A heavey burden, dragging me down,

Stuck, clawing at the ground,

Defeated, unable to move,

Hopeless and confused.

Hatred, boiling within,

Fills the void, becomes my friend,

A companion, I know not to trust,

Afrraid to be alone i decide i must.

Sharp words, cuting deep,

Pain surrounds me, piled in a heap,

A darkness, consumes the light,

Red eyes, filled with delight.

This is a very deep and dark poem. I like how you make the words flow and rhyme so well. Nice work!

A dark brooding poem. I like the rhyming scheme very much and I felt it flowed well. There are some great lines in this and I am especially fond of this one: "Pain surrounds me piled in a heap." That line mad e the poem for me. Good job.
