A Poem by rose

You let her come into our life,

She tore it to pieces

You just sat there and let her

Meanwhile, the yelling increases

Nowadays I barely see you

You let her ruin our life

And again you sat there,

But now she’s your wife

You say you love me,

But your actions don’t show it

You break your promise,

You thought we were just having a little fit

We tried telling you  what was wrong,

But you just told us it was in our head

So we stopped coming around and blamed it on other things

So I guess we are dead

Nowadays you complain we aren't there,

But we just say we are all grown up

You will never know the pain you caused,

My little brother still has to go over the bump

I hope soon you realize what you are losing

If not, I guess mom is the true parent

I’ll be sad to see you go, but

I'll still love you in the present

This poem resonates with me. My parents divorced when I was just about to become a teen. It was a very difficult time with so much emotion going on. The kind of emotion I really didn't understand because I was too young too. I hope you continue writing Rose and expressing yourself. Even if you choose not to share it just keep writing because the words and emotions you have inside need a place to go. They need a home of their own so give them one. Keep writing and never stop. Thank you for sharing your words of art even though it is painful because it shows how brave a writer you are.
