Starlit summer

Starlit summer

A Poem by Sylvia Faff
"

Aftermath of 'under the light of a black paper moon'

"
It must have been great
A great feeling
To stand here
Afterlight
Staring into space

Whilst The stars shined like her eyes
Whilst the Moon was only just full
The wind was gentle and calm
Overlooking a city of dreams

Where blood encrusted the earth and streams of red agony
Flow though like rivers of frozen memories
Of my regret and my pathetic melodies..

She could have just savored the scenery for a little while longer
And waited for me as her wings sprouted and broke.
The wound still stings

Winds kissed me
As salty as they were
Nothingness gave me company
And nothing less gave me strength
And flooded the empty

Her photo was right there
No.
She was right there
But she didnt talk
Not even a word
All she did,
Was stare
With that goofy smile
but somehow
she made endlessness
Seem more like a mile

I looked up at the stars
And I paused
And thought

If only
If only
I could have little while longer
So we could sing
So we could dance
So we could laugh
So we could cry
So i could brush her tears
And wash away Demise

But I realized
I could wish
Till the day my heart goes numb
Time will go on
And She would dissolve
Into my memories
Remembered as a problem
Leading to resolve

We were always together
But now we say our goodbyes
Forever to be separated by,
Black
White
and Indigo

thank you!
I really enjoyed this one Roshan...think we all relate to these feelings of fleeting memories of someone we so desired.

'Where blood encrusted the earth and streams of red agony
Flow though like rivers of frozen memories
Of my regret and my pathetic melodies..'

That's money...nicely pen'd my friend.

~ the last line is always the one most critical since it was something that wraps the whole poem but worry not! I didn't post this to say that I am going to criticize the line. I think it hugged the essence of the poem properly. (:

SO, keep writing, kay?

welcome (:
I could use a little cleaning up , but no much. I love it. The imagery was wonderful and it is a perfect companion to a black paper moon. Its beautifully written overall, but the end seems a bit off to me. Great poem here!

I've been fine. And you?

And you're very welcome!!
it does need a little tweaking my friend..you wander from past tense to present....But it still shows off your talent....I also agree with Kimmer that the rhyming towards the end seems a little forced...Either drop the END or the BLEND

Very thought provoking and with a lot of feeling. You might want to not capitalize Demise.
