maybe it's just me

i'm nothing but an amateur writer, i'm more of a photographer really. but i figured i'd give it a shot, for old time's sake. and maybe it's just me.

maybe it's just me

but i find it mystical

the way fingers can slap a face,

claw at their own skin,

show signs of gross disrespect.

and yet they can run through someone's hair,

play symphonies on piano,

trace the fold's of another's hand.

maybe it's just me.

 

maybe it's just me

but i find it enticing

they way the tongue can curse another being,

speak words meant for harm,

and cause so much pain.

and yet it is also a tool of worship,

a singer of songs,

and can hold a secret, right on the tip.

maybe it's just me.

 

maybe it's just me

but i think it's fascinating

the way eyes can pierce into another's soul,

be a vehicle for temptation,

and see so much pain.

and yet be so beautiful, a rainbow of colors,

an indicator of both tears of joy and sorrow,

a window to one's heart.

maybe it's just me.

I write most of mine spur of the moment (like at work the other day...)
it's not just you =]

I've often wondered how people can be so divided. It is very hard to distinguish the good and bad people. It all feels muddled and grey. One person can lie one moment and help an elderly lady the next. How is it that we can be so grey? But then, isn't grey slightly more interesting than black or white?

Not just you at all. Everything that you just talked about really is quite fascinating.... How something we use for venomous purposes (like words off a tongue) can also be used for something amazing like singing. I dont think you're an amateur! This was well written and really insightful. spur of the moment is the best kind of poem. I love the way this is done. Not a foot put wrong (well, word in this case). It's one of the best I've ever read, and it's one that I'd read again. For a poem, that's pretty unusual for me.

I bet it'd work well as a song.
