Swish

This is poem about being the best person you can be, never stopping for less, and make this world better. This is dedicated to Dirk Nowitzki and my friend.

This is the story of a person,

A person who lives life the right way

Each and every waking moment of every single day

 

This is an end of a chapter, the beginning of a story

This is a story of leaving this world better

Than the way it was handed to them

 

This is a definition of loyalty

Of unwavering triumphs, through ups and downs

Of strength and resilience when nobody knew

 

This is a role model, a best friend

More than they would ever know

Giving more than we could ever give back

 

This is a life well-lived, well-journeyed

This is in an inspiration to all

To drive us to be better

To fuel us to strive for more

To be better than the day before

 

So make this life a slam dunk, a swish

This is my only wish

For you to be happy in whatever you do

I believe this life you speak of was a life lived like no other 2000 years ago and still lives on in the Eternal God-man who wants to share that life with us. His was a 'slam dunk', a 'swish', a perfection never seen again on this old earth.
