Low Demand Love

Low Demand Love

A Poem by Zach Colgate
"

This is a song I wrote a while back but for some reason never posted. I hope you enjoy the words.

"

As a little girl she swore that she new better

than to giver her heart to anyone who'd let her.

As the years went by the wolves lined up to taste her.

One man didn't join their race to waste her.

So she kept him close but never let him near her heart,

and he stood aside writing songs she'd never hear

Starry-eyed for the mechanized bravado,

She made sure he saw her where she sat.

She fell in love with the lie he calls his motto.

She cant see the gears beneath his hat.

She ignores the man who sits beside her

and all he wants to do is hold her hand.

She prefers the venom of the spider.

Honest love is not high in demand.

yeah

Honest love is not high in demand.

She is older now and she gave herself in pieces.

now theres nothing left for the man by her side.
