Lost and Found

Lost and Found

A Poem by Sabyasachi Mitra

I walked the road with downcast eyes,
I felt the pretty golden sunrise,
But lost my mind, in a distant land,
where my lost heart safely lies.

But safety was not assured though-
but it was late when i came to know.
My lost heart is now lost forever,
but is that all that’s to my woe?

Love and hatred will come and go.
Love was hated always though.
It was me and my mistake, that-
I so loved to love your soul.

Gently one day you took my heart,
and then it was roughly torn apart.
Blue and breathless, I can’t live long,
Breaking free from the love or lust.

Now I wander the path turned round,
looking for my heart in “Lost and Found”.
That I can’t break the shackles of love,
I’ll give a miss to the beauties around.

Love is the eternal beauty to me.
Heartless though, but I still can see,
I’ll walk back the old and dusty road
To find my heart and you will see-

I’ll find the pieces of my heart.
I will gather it part by part.
With lots of care I’ll rejuvenate,
And return to you for a brand new start.

Excellent flow, so raw and beautiful at the same time, I could almost see this being a song, actually. anyway, this is gorgeous and I love the third stanza especially, very reflective and just pouring with emotion...great piece :)
