9/11

9/11

A Poem by sarah

I always knew not to take life for granted

But I didn't understand it till now

As I sit on this plane

Looking at death

The twin towers stare me in the face

Panic surrounds me

Emotion drowns me

Suffering suffocates me

9/11 the date of the end for me

15 seconds left

Not enough time to cry

Or pity myself

13 seconds left

I will die to day

but what will happen when I do?

Where will I be?

I then see what has to happen

What I must do

5 seconds left

I kneel down and close my eyes tightly and say

"Lord save me on this day

Save those around me

And those who die because of this plane"

3 seconds left

"Save those on the ground

And heal the broken hearted for those lost today

Save me Lord, save me"

It ends...

And there you are

Your arms open to me

You smile and say "Welcome good and faithful servant"

The world felt terrible about this 9/11 catastrophe. The whole world prayed in unison at this point of time. You've written this very well, and the emotions shown in this work are very strong, and sad. I simply love this work. A good write on this catastrophe.

Very well written, very emotional, very powerful poem. I...don't know what to say, god bless those who died on 9/11. May they rest in peace.

I couldn't read this. The topic of 9/11 makes me so, so sad. I'm sorry Sarah this is one time when I couldn't do it.

this was nice work, and very sad too. PLEASE believe me when i say that 9/11 was a sad day for everyone, Muslims included. in fact i really do not know who could be sadder, the ones who have lost their families and friends, and the ones who have lost the glory and fame of the very ideology that they hold true.
that counting down the seconds was great, i love that technique a lot!
while i have watched shows and movies on how 9/11 was a conspiracy, you have sure captured those terrified feelings of the passengers in this one.
great job here!
