Are you ready to play?

Are you ready to play?

A Poem by sarah

For some the scariest things are hard to explain

The floor boards creek

The window fly’s open

The wind makes odd sounds

But we comfort ourselves by saying

"Ghost can't hurt us, just scare us"

Ghost?

It's true they can't hurt us

But that's because...They’re not real

But what is real

Demons

The devil's angel's

Satan's workers

Oh they are very real....

They stalk you in the night

They touch you in your sleep

They haunt you in the day

They do much more then make the floor creek

The window's blow open

Strange sounds in the wind

No...

They do much worse

They grab at your chest

They yank all sanity from your mind

They kill all sense of hope

They do more then leark in your closet

They do far more then live under your bed

Because they know you...

They know you well

They know your secrets

Your desires

And your weaknesses

Do you think they're afraid of you?

Do you think they know what mercy is?

Do you think they care if you scream and cry?

No...

They feed off your pain

Your tears

Your fears

And your weaknesses

They jump with laughter at your pleading

And smile at your agony

But what's worse?

Their real...

And their standing right behind you

Are you ready to play?

Pros: Haha, I love it! I love the flow and the way you tell the story. I love all the rhetorical questions and I'm LOVING the last two lines. Fantastic ending if I have ever seen one. It really ties it together and leaves me feeling satisfied and a bit creeped out, in a good way.

Cons: A couple spelling errors here and there, but that's no big thing.

Overall: I really like this one :)

I like this story. I still believe the dead folks don't bother us too much. Would be a wild world if they did? I like the set-up of this poem. Like you were preparing the reader for a scary tale to follow. A outstanding poem. Thank you.

Pure honesty about your experiences, I can speak from my own. Sent chills down my back as I think of certain events. Great job!

Nice scarefest write. Small correction, it is spelled "lurk", as in "Lurk in your closet." and ghosts do exist, they are trapped souls who often do not understand they are dead, They can't hurt you, just annoy. And there are defenses against demons. Been there, done that.

Indeed they are real, afraid of them, No not I, they can do little harm if you refuse to play. and i do refuse.
