food is a b***h

food is a b***h

A Poem by sakshi arora

i had a crush on food
i was loyal too,

but the food was a playboy
he had dates on all tables
promising everyone the betrothing fables

i sacrificed my flat tummy
and i cuddled him calling  he is seductively yummy

but, his bisexual orientation was a shock
his fling with sumo wrestlers was now caught

i broke down into tears
whenever he called me fat
and this went on for years

i confronted him and fought
his shallow remark did not leave me in any doubt

he said i never told you to devour me
like a lusty s**t

the breakup was harsh
the nights were long
and the temptation was still strong

but
now i have moved on
singing a new song

i found love again
gym is my new spouse
he wiped the tears
of my body
now i am fit and fab
i say it loudly

Hi Sakshi! You got it right again! I have also been singing this lament recently, what with my love for devouring a couple of plates of barbequed chicken every other day. Glad to know you could dictch the crooked lover for a new and more sensible one. Now it's my turn.

Kudos on this clever and fun read!

This was extremely clever in it's concept as well as being very funny. Now, how can l classify this poem. Is it erotic ,neurotic or quixotic. Whatever ...... It was great fun.

This was great. Food is the siren for some and it can't be avoided because we need it to live and then it turns on us and has the nerve to criticize! Nice work on this one.
