the second side of a small town

the second side of a small town

A Poem by StephenAndrew

And I’m so sick of your overpowering sorrow

Don’t you know

I can see straight through to the other side

On to the second side of your face

And I’m not trying to lie

I might weep so many cold tears of my own

If only I were in your place

But I’m not

And let us not presume

Nor digress

Despite the fact I have never been put through

Such strenuous of tests

I doubt the fiber of my character would allow such a facade

To be put on

I know I’m right

I know I’m right

So next time

Hold it tight

So next time don’t paint one on your sleeve

That’s just something

That in moment’s like these I just don’t need

So wipe off those lying little tears

Cause I can’t breathe around you

Cause I’ve worked so hard

To get this far tonight

And I won’t slide back with out a fight

hey
somewhat lyrical to me, which is always good. i felt a stubborn, slightly conceited (not the bad obnoxious conceited, the good realization, enlightened type) vibe. dignified, intense, great write :]

interesting piece, a little deja vu for me. kinda confusing, but I liked it that way. even strengthens the deja vu more. thanks again for sharing; I love impromptu pieces.
