My Angel

My Angel

A Poem by sam55

You were my angel, you wiped my tears away,
You helped me through the hardest times and kept my fears at bay,
When I was weak you made me strong,
You made me right when I was wrong,
In so many ways you saved my life,
Now everyday I pay the price,
the day we married, my angel died,
There was a demon left inside,
I see you now for what you are,
Each time you healed you left a massive scar,
I look at the marks you left on my skin,
I know this is a game I will not win,
You were my angel once upon a time,
But you have committed an unforgivable crime,
Goodbye my angel, I am leaving,
Because first impressions can be deceiving.

Beautifully tragic. I love it. It has strong emotion, you know? The last two lines are very powerful to me.

This is so sad! You have a tragic yet beautiful way of writing this poem. Great job. I love how you said , "the day we married, my angel died". It's as if this poem has a bit of a deeper meaning. I like it:)
