The Price I Pay

The Price I Pay

A Poem by samantha joy

I wish I could

Forget

Better yet

I wish it never

Even happened

You said it

So quickly

Like you knew

It pained me,

And it did

But I understand

Loving someone

Like me.

That’s the price I pay

For being gay.
