"Winter" 5-14-2014

Biting cold, frozen wind, powerful wrath

Hard as stone, the ice cuts right through.

Unforgiving, as the white snow covers your path

All hope is lost, this much is true.

Fingers freeze, bare skin burns

Everything is covered, inside and out.

Cold weather is wicked, the human learns

As the snow amasses, they wish for drought.

Crystallized, the frost covers all

The creatures hide, and the flowers die.

The humans halt, the world slows to a crawl

Everything is lost to gloom, they wonder: why?

Eventually, winter will yield to spring

But until then, we’ll see no fur, no wing

I like how descriptive your poetry is, especially this one. When I read it I feel winter's icy wind making my face numb.
