Perched/……………..BY Sami Khalil

Perched to fly off into the unknown…A romance poem.

The Poem:

The wind stops its whips

The rain halts its drips

The candle burns its tips

The ocean idles its ships

Death tightens its grips

Luck plays its many chips

The joker shares his quips

A lady shows off her hips

The traveler longs for trips

A trace is found on blips

My name perches sadly

on your lethargic lips!

The bird doesn't know a good perch when she finds one. A giggle and a sigh from this one.

I am smiling. I am not sure why you chose to end this on a down beat, but it changes everything as you do...
I must consider what this poem would be saying if the last lines changed.
My name as sweet as honey
When kissed from your soft lips...
I can dream... ha.
We must start a cause and ban all "lethargic lips". :)
Fun read Sami.

I love the rhyme scheme for this piece. It's shame when someone is loved and they take it for granted. A beautiful write Sami!

Wow. Thank you amazing poet for this lovely review. All appreciated...:)................
This poem with it's unique rhyming scheme stands out for it's wry acceptance of an uncaring love. A one-sided love can be both funny and cruel at the same time. The bird art is simply beautiful too. Another exquisite work from you Sami. Indeed enjoyed so much!
