Sleepless Horizons      By Sami Khalil

Shuddered in the blazing shards of pleasure, reborn after the inviting fires, remnants of distant silences ended in grey words.

Rivers floated, but in way wards of muddy testaments. The soul of the desert invited remembrances of its eerie shadows by way of awkward rebellions.

In my gentle rest, I pushed away the clouds and rains, after the sighting of many elongated rainbows.

The mist of mornings recovered my sleepless worries from the swooning of last traipsing. Memories swooped me up, beaming with smiles of drifting hearts through placid lakes.

Every pulse of reality held eminence, crossing the theatres of forgotten corners.

Days melted away like soft butter when I beheld treasures of an infinite realm. It was the delicate kiss before sunrise, self-realized.

The cloth of regrets, that dabbed those eyes of sleepless horizons, whitewashed its soft cotton. Time of new harvest is at hand.

dear Sami... ""new harvest is at hand"... your words reflect what many of us have felt and
pondered as our world has changed so drastically with fires and floods. Surely, when we see a rainbow, we will dabb our eyes and realize that "but for the grace of God... go I myself". When we see the delicate kiss before sunrise, we will think of all the ones who have truly suffered at the hands of
suppression and calamities. as ever, Pat
