Rarest Rose…Sami Khalil

Rarest Rose…Sundrenched and beautiful!

We belong together.

Together in the sanctuary of love, in the ballet of dance and flight of fancy, to full scale reflections on mystery;

When intuitions call the mind

When lumber kisses raging fires

When corralled prisoners are freed

When new beginnings of pain and pleasure

are served raw with a knife

and time is held hostage to pendulum swings.

Rarest Rose…Rain-washed and thirsty!

We belong forever.

This heart ride ought to be traveled in unison,

in infinite possibilities of spinning wheels,

accepting each other’s journey with soothing

pleasantries under moonlit paths.

Meaningful words should not be sullied

where conjured words live in dark corners becoming shadows of upheavals.

Yet, I await…In riotous protest, in vanquished pleas, in sweet madness, in tumbleweed moments for you, knowing everything has timing in the Big Clock, new beginnings in the great scheme, and peace when dueling is over.

Rarest Rose…Once upon a valentine, You were mine.

This is a mind-stimulating romantic plea! I found myself very convinced by your great examples of why this narrator should be together with his evidently lost love. I love that your reasoning has more to do with appreciating one another in deeper ways than just needing a warm body close by & convenient to make a person feel warm & fuzzy. Your ways of appreciating another person are multi-layered & well-expressed here (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

A tremendous write! You have included some many wonderful references, ie 'when lumber kisses raging fire', 'in a ballet of dance and flight of fancy,' 'infinite possibilities of spinning wheels.'. I have a tendency to see literal pictures when phrases like these are used so my mind had a feast day with this poem. And I like the clever (but sad) last line.

You've done it again, Sam, my friend. I'm enthralled in another one of your beautiful verses.
I love the way the first couple of lines of the first two stanzas are symmetric prose, and the rest wanders into it's own rite. Then the last lines throw an offbeat curve.
It's music to my eyes brother.
