An Open Invitation              by Sami Khalil

Layer by layer

Detail by detail

Narrative by narrative

Beyond the “holy Canon”- truths untold.

Past the “official story”- versions uncovered.

Far off the “written history”- offings near conceivably.

Afar this “mundane life”- plethora of possibilities.

Indeed, and perhaps

An afterthought, an aftertaste, an after scent,

Filling, fulfilling, tilling many indicative Ellipses.

So, let us kickstart our search,

embrace no tunnel visions and bring back

driftwood conversations, petrified connotations,

wilted innovations, before the setting sun vanishes...

An open invitation.

An adroit, rhythmical poem urging one to open wide their eyes and gaze upon this wondrous world and look even further beyond, there is much to behold, so time to remove morose, blinkered googles and let positivity, the vibrancy flow freely ..

' So, let us kickstart our search,

embrace no tunnel visions and bring back

driftwood conversations, petrified connotations,

wilted innovations, before the setting sun vanishes '

Yes, thx, all well and how time flies 🤯
You are far from living a "mundane life" to be putting out material such as this.

This is the kind of work I come across and realize I have to step up my game.

Invitation accepted, Sami.

A wonderful poem shared Sami. I liked the energy and the positive feel of the words. I agree, we must seek new places, new thought and lose the weight of regret. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Yes - question everything, and satisfy your own mind that you have found the truth. The media are often far from objective in what they feed us, and politicians almost always tell us what their spin doctors have concocted in their offices and backrooms. Even many aspects of history are suspect. So much "fake news" about in this modern age! A poem to ponder, my friend!

The truth has many layers and they seem to be molded into whatever the media decides to tell us. It is wise to get the news from many sources. To get the story from a few and then draw our own conclusions. Your poem itself is multi-layered, Sami. I liked it....but missed the artwork you usually post with your poetry. Lydi**

Long have I said that I make a terrible sheep. I question everything. I don't trust anything. It is said that if we do not learn from history we are doomed to repeat it. But how can we learn from something that is no longer taught? A whole generation is growing up without even the right questions to ask.
Sorry. I ramble. But these are the thoughts your poem brings to mind. Hope I haven't mis- interpreted. Well done, my friend. Most profound.
