Still be artsy    by Sami Khalil

An English sonnet…

Livens the room when she does come hither

When hearts quiver and toothy grins light up

Topsy Turvey and silk-lined hopes dither

For a moment, void shrinks the turf and cup.

I spy courtships ensue terra firma

Even pausing ravens and crows to hear

Abandoned confessions burgle plethora

Of silences awed and betides steer.

Faintly, I see the dashing figure off

The map or dreams as my words do tremble

In stared revolts and comprehensions’ scoff

The ephemeral and scared witless resemble.

Ode to love borne in brief flight of fancy

Like an unfinished poem, still be artsy.

We have a calling and need to follow that calling.
I really like how you modernize the form, Sami.
