King of Hearts

King of Hearts

A Poem by Samantha Grace
"

I'm not sure what prompted this. It sounds like it's about a love (to me), but it's not..... I don't think. Who knows?

"

Feeling what I feel
It's no secret
My thoughts flow
like an open book
only the turn of a page
is all it takes
to know
What it is I feel
What it is I think
You are the entity
Of the hollow masquerade
No thoughts no feelings
Only blank stares
not becoming the love
of my lady fair
Just point me in the right direction
to heal myself of such a strange affliction
It's something so indecipherable
Nothing legible and whole
Only empty and rushing through
Never taking the time for you
Bleeding black tears
Like the oil on your boots
King of the sadists
Queen of the masochists
Quite the pair
None of hearts
This deck of cards is falling apart

Looks like a welcome back to WC is in order!

I do hope life has treated you well along the way. Still writing?
This one didn't "feel" at all like you were rambling.

I would have to blame the ace of spades....he broke up the queen of diamonds and the jack of clubs too.

On a serious note, I like writing like this because unless it is explained by you what you were thinking at the time. I can apply it to any situation I think it would fit into.

This is a piece that can be taken up in so many ways, first it did feel like you were referring to a love that is going nowhere esp at the end where you say this deck of cards is falling apart, but then i think it was inspired by some feeling you may hav had, like a worry about say your house, it could be pointing at writers block, you know the way sometimes you write a great poem and then for ages cannot think of anything at all, but if im honest it does feel like you refer to love, but not your own.
