Maize

Maize

A Poem by sandpiper66
"

a poem to a nurturing friend

"
Now
I am quietness
Growing, curled up, in secret
Your fertile soil and warming sun
Insulated, Nourished.

Gently coaxing me to life
Until one sun-filled morning
I emerge in tune with creation
And joyous.

i drove between fields of corn a few days back exploring the farmlands around my new home, reading this i find myself there exalting once again the force with which life explodes both from earth and from flesh...a fine penning...

thanks for reading and telling me how it affected you. It means so much.
This describes a good friend perfectly! I love the running metaphor and he language, the shortness of the poem implies that a good friend can get you back on your feet with new found hope in no time, which is very true.
