A Poem by sansrity sinha
"

describes my feelings during chennai cyclones

"

The sea looked calm, beaches were quiet

As the sun shone bright on a summer day

Most of us prayed to clouds to come

As harsh winds blew to drive us thirsty

We prayed for rains to the almighty

Time passed by, seasons changed

After months there came a day

Our hearts were filled with joy

As we rejoiced each drop of pouring rain

Our eyes shone bright

As we saw dark clouds passing above

We all enjoyed the time as it rained

Slowly the time took a turn

As rains turned strong we felt cold

We were stuck with its might

The clouds grew denser and winds harsher

As the waves tolled high beaches looked scary

Water entered to flood the city,

Homes broke down, people turned helpless

All this marked the rise of devil

The mighty cyclone upturned lives

There was turnmoil at every sight

Hungry people homeless kids

The sight was devastating

With every passing moment we prayed again

But this time for rains to go

As every coin has a flip side, rains too have got one

Always admire what you have

As nature has its way to explain its worth

elegant and true.
If you said you wanted only gold. you can not eat it, if you
were to flood the market than it would be worth nothing at
all. There is an old adage careful for what you wish for?

Hold onto what you have dear lady. Take each blessing as it comes
may your heart be strong. Each day we live, we are blessed. Love
those who love you. May the day be bright. Hope is our calling
and our sign.

Sincerely

Very well done work. I was watching your storm and remembering similar situations. Excellent imagery and emotions within your work. thanks.

Living in California we as you describe, pray for rain. The fear of course is we get it and it is more than we can handle and we have flooding. We need water to live, but just a easily water can take life.

How true. We pray for things and when He gives us an over abundance, we change our minds. Valentine

Beautiful: your words dug up the emotions, bringing them to the surface, giving us the chance to not just understand, but also feel the passion imbided in it. Great work!!!

I really liked it. It's very deep and thought provoking. You could use a bit more rhythm, and try to put commas, periods, etc.
