Your Lyrical Symphony

Your Lyrical Symphony

A Poem by Santulan
"

Dedicated to Husna Di who just had book 'My lyrical Symphony' published some time ago. It's a collection of some her poems

"

I shuffle through the pages

Taking in each word, a visual delight

Equally moving, equally unsettling.

Like the proverbial pyramid

You seem the same and

And yet every time I see you

I know that something inside you has changed

Like the river flowing its course,

You words flow by

Sometimes laminar and caressing

Giving smooth curves to the pebbles

That lay on the bed below.

Then there are those times

It rushes by

Creating impacts

Like a water fall on the rocks below.

Colloquy with your inner self,

Thoughts that masquerade themselves

As tides that may come now

And leave me wanting for more

Till the dam fills up

And the muse manifests herself.

Immortality the damnation of the forsaken,

And yet it comes slowly, tippy toey

Runs its hands through your tresses

Knowing that it cannot have you

Cannot blemish you

For Beauty shall live on

Etched forever in the souls

Of those who pass by.
