flower eyes

flower eyes

A Poem by Sarah Wolf

every night shed go home
water welling up in her eyes
lining her crimson pupils
her mother would open the gate
to her daughters
wonderland
and ask why
why was her beautiful daughter crying?
im not crying shed reply
im watering my garden she explained
i have flowers for eyelashes
my tears keep them alive
they get pleasure from my pain
i dont mind crying
im sad all the time anyways
she whispered
her mother would never understand
her daughter had the most beautiful garden

Probably because you are a kind person- you always wanted others to be happy and sometimes this caused for your sacrifices- and that makes you cry.

Nice imagery here.

crimson pupils - interesting turn of phrase
I like the bit about the eyelashes being flowers
Is this an emo poem or is it inspired by the emo genre?

I thought that the ending: "She had the most beautiful garden." --threw me off a little bit here because it implies that the girl has beautiful eyelashes from crying so much? In any case, the imagery in your writing is beautiful. I liked the reference to opening the gates to home/wonderland. Great job:)
