Your Memory

Your Memory

A Poem by Sara Jean

I linger in your memory…
I do.
I know not if this is something that is weakening me
Or making me stronger yet
I think of you
I do this quite often
Too often perhaps
Something I’ve done for such a long time now
It’s become quite normal

I miss you frequently
And I feel anger as well
Humility and desperation
Pumping right through me
I have cried and wanted to rip into my own skin
Whether you are gone from this realm, or simply ‘missing’
My heart aches for you

I have physically feel this ache
As if the mental disarray hasn’t been enough
And I often wonder
If I am what I am because of what you were
Because of our lives interacting
Or will I be a fragment now that you are gone?
