Choice

Choice

A Poem by

It wasn't my choice.
I took every second with praise.
I stood strong in my place,
while shattered glass flew my way.

My emotions, scratched.
Everything a horrific hurricane.
Sucking my soul into,
it's disastrous whirlwind.

It wasn't my choice.
I played it fate's way.
Leaving no marks behind,
freedom drained.

It took me eras,
a couple of lifetimes.
Our chances like lightning,
one strike, two strikes, game over.

It wasn't my choice.
I'll be thinking of you tonight,
of destiny that pulled us together,
and fate that tore our hearts apart.

It wasn't my choice..

Twinkle, you did an amazing job with this one. While shattered glass flew my way it became a disastrous whirlwind. My freedom was drained and before I knew it, we were over. Destiny, fate............who knows? Sometimes it seems we have no choice.

This is really a different poem; the sort I was looking forward to reading. Really conveyed the narrator's helplessness very well- helplessness as choices were made and how fate and destiny played a role in lives of humans. A nice piece of poetry...

I think your ink nails the whirlwind of destiny and fate right to it's foundation of emotional fluctuations. How true that some of the best things we ever find in this world are brought in on the tides of a divine wind and just as quickly turned to ash in the fires of the fates.

Wonderful Ink!

I liked this. It shows deep emotion and that you didn't want what happened to end. The title for this peice is perfect.

I'll be thinking of you tonight,

of destiny that pulled us together,

and fate that tore our hearts apart.

Those three lines were my favorite out of this poem. It seemed to me as if it had a nice flow and pulled the peice together. Great job and keep it up.

I really like your last three lines. Its absolutely wonderful and a beautiful use of words. "It wasn't my choice..." it feels as if you're pleading with him to understand that it was out of your hands. The emotions are strongest in this line.
