An Adventurous Child...

An Adventurous Child...

A Poem by Saumya
"

'sometimes when we sit and remember our childhood memories, they teach us many minute but precious principles to deal with life...these are some of them i discovered:)

"
Since the time I was a child,
i loved to gaze at the stars in sky,
their glitter, their shine , their spark
and the light,
filled me with huge delight..
and i always wondered,
what  made them shine so bright?

Since the time I was a child,
i loved to see the butterflies
pink, white, green, blue,
and some with beautiful stripes..
and i always wondered,
what  made these creatures fly?

Since the time I was a child,
i loved to see the rainboin  sky
i always waited for the heavy rains,
so that i could see it back again...
those seven colors
left me completely mesmerized,
and i always wondered,
what  imparted it,
such
immense beauty in the sky...

Since the time I was a child,
i loved seeing  birds
fly high in the sky..
and like all others
wished too,
to fly in the sky
and  always wondered,
why humans too, cannot
at least skid in the sky?...

Since the time I was a child,
i have been loving
every second of my life,
i try understanding and enjoying
everything around and nearby
and no matter how harsh is my life,
i live it like an Adventurous child
fighting with harshness,
every moment in it i survive...

for if you live life as a child,
you'll never know
what are worries and strife,
as they indeed aren't anything else,
but ' happiness in the form of pains disguised'
and as you walk on these stairs of life,
you'll somewhere clearly know,
that' you are the one who can create
everything for you, by the only  attitude
you have towards life'
and that will tell you what's life...

No matter people judge you today
to be wrong or right,
'always remember, that's never a full stop,
but only a comma of life'
live life like an Adventurous child
for a child never knows
what are worries, anger, rejection, and pain
all they know,
is to sail through life
and dance merrily,
even in storms and heavy rains..

they never care,
what people say is wrong or right
they only do what they think is right...
and this is why
they are always filled with
 cheer and delight...

This is amazingly good. The repetition, the content and arrangement of your stanze. Indeed, if this world is like a child, we will bear no grudge, no malice, no struggling, no killing, no bad would be inherited in us, because is not a product of childhood. But you see, my very good friend, Saumya, its never like that, not always. The world has grown oid and full of evil. But doing the right at the right time no matter what stand against would always make us smile and once more we become like a child. An Advanturous Child. Thank you so much for this poem.

Welcome dear.I enjoyed your piece of work.

You've created such a colourful and detailed post, Saumya.. In parts it carries smiles, in others it prompts tears. You've always used words and decoration as signpost to self.. and haven't failed one little bit with this detailed post.

Seems children live wonderful lives in your writing but tis also fact that so many worldwide live in this or that kind of hell. If only the concept of ' Adventurous child - for a child never knows - what are worries, anger, rejection, and pain .. ' were true.

Nonetheless, children are born innocent and see the world and all it holds in a bright and exiting light. And that's what you've brought to the writing table.

smiling here em:) your review is again one of those i really admire. I wrote this poem in a simple f.. read more
Having been a child is a great pleasure for every human being. The last three paras are unstintingly optimistic.
I loved the lines-
"and as you walk on these stairs of life, you'll somewhere clearly know, that' you are the one who can create everything for you, by the only attitude you have towards life'"
Nice write and keep sharing.

While children seem to be strangely resilient in the face of pain and difficulty, I'm not sure anyone could reasonably suggest all children are "always filled cheer and delight." No one who has seen a full-fledged temper-tantrum could reconcile the stark contrast of your poem's words. Children tend to bounce back from unhappiness more quickly (in part because their memory center is still developing), but children also feel more strongly about each second of the day than an adult ever could- both the extreme highs and extreme lows. Time goes slower for kids and they feel more deeply than adults, but that is only a blessing 50% of the time-less if you're a child who lives in an abusive home or goes hungry often.

Despite the fact that I am diametrically opposed to the content of this poem, I do think the structure is sound. You do have some grammatical issues (i.e: in the 5th stanza you switch from past tense -ed, to present perfect progressive -ing. This is the only place you do this and it sounds awkward.

As you well know, this is one person's opinion amidst a sea of glowing reviews. I hope it is helpful.

What a beautiful poem. There is so much truth and power in your simple words.
The last lines:-

"they never care,
what people say is wrong or right
they only do what they think is right...
and this is why
they are always filled with
cheer and delight..."

Such amazing lines. Kids really are amazing and so are your poems.
I too believe that people should have the heart of a child. To always smile at life and enjoy your days. To forgive everyone merrily. To give to everyone.
I can't help but agree with you.
This is an amazing poem.
Keep writing.
- Your friend :-)

you're welcome
Though I am near exactly middle-aged myself, and sometimes feel it or even imagine older, I feel quite childlike reading "An Adventurous Child..." It's lovely. Lovely, Saumya. The color type which appears on the page here today really adds to the dimension and when read correctly casts the spell of enchantment on the reader to pull them into that kindergarten spirit.

Thank you so much Laura:D am glad you enjoyed the write:)
This is amazing.
I never wanted to be older than ten. A child has no worries. Life's easy and fun.
We all never want to grow. And we don't .We just change physically but we cannot hide the child inside us.
But yeah growing older means going through a lot. The world is evil but a child's pure mind never gets affected.
Even the most cold hearted people smile at a child. So innocent they are.
This is greatly penned :) loved it. Simple and smooth!
