schism

schism

A Poem by savesthedaynj

I want to open up

Split ribs with no jagged edges

Part my lips down dead center

Tear my tongue in two.

Would this satisfy you?

Mend it later with glue

or leave it sprawled out

on the kitchen table like

a bad table cloth

underlaying precious china.

Could it stand on its two feet

not trip on the cushioned ground nor

bounce like a penny off a hard wood floor.

Love this... the images you conjure up are so viscous that I can not help but feel the poem and not just read the words. Well done. thanks for inspiration...good stuff.
