Land of Nothing

Land of Nothing

A Poem by Placid Stranger
"

I wrote this way back in 6th grade and recently rediscovered it. My teacher didn't like the ending. I thought it was hilarious.

"

The thunder rolls

And lightning strikes

The rain splashes on my head

And makes me shiver all night

I’m trapped outside

With nowhere to hide

In the middle of the land of nothing

With the storm making life so depressing

Nothing but concrete for miles and miles

And I sit down and think for a little while

I have no idea why I’m here

And my whole body is filled with fear

When will this dream ever end?

When will this nightmare ever end?

The thunder rolls

And lightning strikes

My world starts to blend

Then everything is all right

It’s sunny outside

And I’m on my roof

“How did I get here?”

I asked my goose
