God Gave Flowers!

God Gave Flowers!

A Poem by LSS

When God gave flowers to the earth,

He made them full and fresh.

He gave them beauty, colored hues,

Not strength, nor height, nor breath.

There’re many nights I stand alone

To watch the evening sky.

There’s not a greater glory seen,

That man can have, not buy

A woodland glade is pleasanter,

Than generous beds of ease.

To wait all nestled in its grip,

Is made; my heart to please.

The ocean fury tumbles me.

The streams lap at my feet.

The rain falls softly in the leaves.

Fresh water's honey sweet.

When storm’s gale blows and lightning streaks,

And wind a howl awakes.

No wonder His almighty hand

Controls, and wills, and makes.

My Lord has made them all for me,

To gender love and awe.

I praise His name, to Him adore,

His truths are without flaw.

Hearing your awe-struck words makes me want to close my eyes and take a deep breath, and remember that no matter what a hash I've made of my life, it WAS my doing, NOT my Maker's, as so many are too wont to believe. I'm glad we're on the same team, Larry. This is a sensitive, genuine love poem, in the best sense of the term. Thank you, Mark

I'm in love with it too and have often been awestruck and stood in wonder by its power and might. This is just beautifully written and thoroughly enjoyed!

Lovely piece. Love the last line especially. Unfortunately, too many people think that their truths are His truths in this world. Great work. How you been?
